Selective Consciousness my Art/20102011/01/30 01:37
Artists are influenced
regardless of time and place by their view of nature or the value system of the
society they belong to. And artists adopt a motive from their experiences,
memories or the environment surrounding them, and thereby express it with their
own formative language. In the free current of contemporary art, I attempt to
explore my own forms while researching into diverse experimentations and
expressions.
In a culture
dominated by visual images, most people use their eyes to obtain vast amounts
of information without the need for direct or close physical contact. In order
to realize my formative language, I started looking at objects carefully with
the lens of a camera, and I borrowed the term “gaze” to describe the
relationship between visual objects and myself. Among the movements of innumerable
visual objects, my view converges on reflected images in mirrors and windows
and they make me rediscover
the modern landscape in which I am living.
Through such a production
of work, this study suggests a modern landscape rediscovered through my
interpretation of consciousness, and thereupon, puts forward the direction for my
future works on new spaces. Lastly, it is hoped that this study will provide a
stepping stone for my future creative activities.
